This was prompted by the cell phones in church thread. What absolutely perfect (not) combos of ring tone and circumstance can you come up with? (Bonus points if it really happened.)
Here's a couple to start:
"You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille" at a wedding
"I'll be watching you" in a court hearing on stalking
-------------------- Er, this is what I've been up to (book). Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down!

A friend had "God save the Queen" as the assigned ring tone for his grandmother, solely because it was fun to have it blast out loudly in the pub. The conversation would always diminish enough for him to pick up the call and loudly say, "Hello Granny!" People moved closer to listen and looked at him differently; I saw it happen...
[ETA: he used to turn it off when drinking in the Royal British Legion since he thought it kinder to all the old people who would otherwise leap to their feet and stand to attention until he answered.] [ 16. November 2016, 21:23: Message edited by: Teekeey Misha ]

On my old phone, I searched high and low till I came up with the bit in Kill Bill where Kim Basinger whistles a jaunty tune as she walks down the hospital hall to do in The Bride. (wish I could tag Stetson.)
I was having lunch in Davenport one afternoon, I heard the tune, and wrestled my phone out of my pocket. It wasn't ringing, but I still heard the tune. Turned out some hipster waitress had sauntered by, whistling the very tune.
Of course I had to wave her over and share my excitement. [ 17. November 2016, 04:14: Message edited by: Kelly Alves ]
