I'm not in the slightest bit surprised.
In the middle of a book review, of a book the reviewer appeared to be actually enjoying, they commented (with disapproval) that my cast of characters was 'dutifully multicultural'.
There is literally no depth to which they won't plumb. I have every expectation that when we finally image the inner core of the planet, a semi-rigid metal ball at intense pressure and heat, crushed by the gravitational energy of trillions of tonnes of matter, that will be where we find the consciences of those who work there.

I rather hope they'll find themselves in that circle of Hell where they're immured in shit for all eternity. At least they'll feel at home.
BTW, the blog article says that the free paper Metro is part of the Daily Wail's tinpot little empire. I didn't know that.

There's another side to this - the What Can We Do About IT side. This thread of course is for hating the Daily Heil, because it's in Hell. I'll be starting another thread in the Not So Hot place to talk about how we actually address things.

Sign up for Stop Funding Hate. A campaign that targets advertisers in the Mail, Sun and Express and encourages to find better places for their ad budget until they stop making shit up. The Spectator has got very over-excited about it. So they must be doing something right.

Ah yes. The Spectator doing that thing that some people do where a suggestion that people shouldn't talk shit and whip people up into hatred, and that other people should consider not giving them the money to do so, is an attack on free speech.
But then the Spectator has long been mostly full of crap written by knob-ends.

Fascism always has fellow-travelers, as did Communism. They will not actually come out and say, support the Blackshirts, but they will argue about free speech and so on, basically saying that anti-fascist movements and groups are illegitimate. Bollocks.

First of all, that is one damn fine piece of writing, right there.
Second, I remember you griping about that before, and thinking the reviewer was a moron, then. Guess what, idiot, a lot of folk only have to walk out their front door to step into a cast of characters that is "dutifully multicultural." Some people live sheltered lives.

The Daily Heil, on the other will and did come out and say "hurrah for the blackshirts". They really are that vile.

When was that?
I ask because people often seem to trot out "They supported the Nazis" but that was about 80 years ago now.

Feel free to show me any signs that they've changed over that period, other than a marginal gain in subtlety.

I couldn't tell you whether their stance has changed in the past 80 years or not. I didn't read the paper then and I'm not reading it now.

If the theory these geniuses propose is correct, not only does it not encourage me to be anti- immigrant, it encourages me to be anti- white dudes who jack the council house system to their advantage and hoard two empty rooms to themselves for twenty years while families sit on a wait list.
Damn, I really am a socialist. [ 25. November 2016, 19:24: Message edited by: Kelly Alves ]

I would opine that siding with a fascist who assassinated a democratically elected representative might just indicate that their stance hasn't changed.
YMMV.

I find it hard to believe they would have supported Hitler during the war and the years after, but YMMV.

See above for "hide it better". Such is the political climate now that they don't really have to do that any more.

No,Ariel, not during the war,but certainly up to 1934 it overtly supported Mosley & Co. Wikipedia has this
Support of Fascism
and also see this link
Rothermere
(Scroll down to 'appeasement'
I think after the outbreak of WW2 though it would have altered its stance

It might have altered its stance towards Nazi Germany, but it was xenophobic then and it's xenophobic now.
