Brothers and sisters. It's time I bowed out for some shore-leave. I won't leave the Ship entirely but I will fast from it for a while.
I owe a lot to people here and I have a lot of time for all of you, even those I clash with regularly.
I meant to 'fast' from the Ship during Lent but didn't. So I'm going to do so now.
I won't go into detail but I've started seeing a 'spiritual director' and even though they didn't 'tell' me to do this or anything of the kind, I felt a sense of confirmation (yes, EE, some 'experience if you like, but based on lots of other criteria and not simply a gut instinct ) that I ought to give the Boards a rest for a bit.
This is going to require some will power and may be difficult - particularly when there're discussions about events in my old home-town etc and when I patently like the sound of my own voice.
But there is a time for silence.
And this is it for me.
I may browse but will aim not to post. If you want to bid me a decent shore-leave or even (justifiably) tell me where to get off, please feel free but I feel that I need to discipline myself not to get drawn into online chat for the time being.
If I have offended anyone, I apologise.
And I will be back (whether or not your find that a good prospect or not).
But in the meantime, God bless the Ship and all who sail in her.
May God bless and keep you all.

Not a "flounce" but a "stroll".
May good things come of it, and may you return refreshed.
ETA: you do realize that you've posted in Purg instead of All Saints? I know Purg is your native board but still.... ![[Two face]](graemlins/scot_twoface.gif) [ 13. May 2013, 17:22: Message edited by: Lyda*Rose ]

and best wishes.
From what you've said, might be worth trying an occasional fast from *reading* the Ship, too. Go for a walk, look at some flowers, or read the XKCD site and some of its affiliates. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Have a good break, and I look forward to seeing you back again when the time is right.
I always enjoy your posts, which you call "sitting-on-the-fence"--ish sometimes, but I call "seeing both sides of the question with wisdom and maturity."
(Maybe because I too love the top of that fence!!)

We're not overly fond of farewell threads here on the Ship and this one has run for just under 24 hours so I shall close it now.
Blessings and peace Gamaliel.
