Last year closed with congratulations to Auntie Doris and PaulW on the arrival of Edward James so here is a shiny new thread for the arrivals [by birth or adoption or whatever] for the new year.

My niece is expecting twins in June after many years of trying to conceive.
I am a VERY excited great aunt-in-waiting, these will be the first babies in our family for 24 years!

Juliette arrived yesterday after about 2 days of labour. I find the lack of instruction manual disturbing...

Congratulations!
I'm sure there are several instructions manuals available but I sincerely doubt whether they will agree with one another about ANYTHING!!

Congratulations, Flubb, and welcome to Juliette.

Put milk in one end and take the stuff away from the other seems to be rule one. I gather you should also keep it away from naked flames.
Congratulations.
NHS Scotland does Ready Steady Baby - which we found reassuring to have around. It doesn't tell us what to do now the Dafling is now half way to being a toddler and has decided that life is too short to eat or sleep.

Beautiful name, congratulations Flubb.

My husband and I used to say that the problem with our babies was that they hadn't read the manuals and didn't know how they were supposed to act.

Congratulations Flubb! And also to Great-Aunt Boogie!

Those here who know me elsewhere have been very restrained in not letting the ship know that the second Kipplet is due in August
(and my apologies for announcing this to the Ship much later than elsewhere)

Congrats, Kipper!

Congratulations to Flubb, potential Great-Auntie Boogie and WK.
As there are no lesser piglets, I can't offer much to the instruction manual conversation; my usual rule is, if it starts to either yell or smell, hand it back.

Congrats to Kipper and LMC

Mr K and I just figured out that we are expecting a new addition in mid-2014.
Kasra = excited. Mr K = nervous and in shock. I think we need to pray for him!

Kiplet #2 (of the male variety) showed up early on the 23rd July. Sadly a few hours too late for us to claim a silver penny.

Not for much longer Pete!
Now that I've announced it in that Other Place, it's time to announce that The Machine Elf and I are having a baby. *It's actually due next month, but I am currently having a Bit of a Do with my health and am in hospital (just out for a few hrs good behaviour this afternoon) so it's looking likely it will be earlier than that. Eek.
* still an 'it' currently as we don't know the gender.
