There seems a predominance of "Fuck you xxx" threads here, so I just wondered if there was anything else that needed fucking at the moment, so we could get it out of the way.

If you're not careful, the serenity and tranquillity of this board may be interrupted by the imposition of a word-filter, as has been known to happen on H&A days in the past.
Just imagine the confusion if "fuck" was replaced by "bless" or "love" or somesuch.

Judging by the "Being Single Sux" thread in AS, I'm guessing about half the Ship.

I know I'm tired of seeing it. For some, reason the phrase, "What the hell, dude?" makes me laugh. I suggest we switch to, "What the hell, American justice system?" and "What the hell Eutychus?" etc.

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realise the purpose of Hell was to make you laugh, Twilight.
(You're right, I'm not sorry at all).
Having said that, I think the same phrase does get a bit repetitive, but then Hell is not here as an antidote to my low boredom threshold either.

It's the English language's all-purpose anger-indicating (usually) intensifier. If it weren't "fuck" it would be something else, and we'd all be sick of that too. Get the fuck over it.

Much as I would like to satisfy those on the ship needed a fuck, that would be a) abusive and creepy; b) rather a lot of hard work; and c) bad for my health if my wife found out.

I am not a puritan nor am I puranitanical.
But it seems to me that the use of the f*** word, now so prevalent on the Ship merely displays the paucity of expression and the inability to find any decent English expression which conveys what is intended.
Is our vocabulary so limited that no other word suffices?

So you're tired of seeing fuck, but not of using it?
To be clear I don't have a problem with fuck as a word, and I'm not trying to police it's use, but I think your post clearly demonstrates that it loses it's force when used repetitively.

Oh, Huia.
See how you took the time to tell me that the Hell board wasn't here for my amusement? Then might you have guessed that my response was also about the Hell board? I was talking about the board just as you were, not the word "fuck." I just used it a lot because that's what this thread is about.
I have spent this entire day explaining my posts and I honestly don't wee why they are so hard to understand.

Maybe they are hard to understand because you are talking mindless drivel, pretending to be pretentious drivel, and it is hard to tell.

I'd vote for boink. I'll try it in Twilight's paragraph:
"I'm boinking sorry, but I'll boinking use it for any boinking purpose I boinking feel like, Hu-boinking-ia, self-boinking-appointed officer of the boinking purpose police.
Makes me giggle.
YMMV

When I was looking for strong language for a book I was working on, I did find that Finnish seems to be a good language for expressive terms. bearing in mind this is fiction, the translation is less important than the feel of the words. So hevon vittu and Voi paska seem to work well for me.

When I went to Iceland the machines at the airport that generate your boarding pass were particularly aggravating to manage. I learned that 'fuck' is a word in Icelandic that apparently means the same as it does in English.
