He kinda compounded that by coming up with a spectacularly transparent and daft justification for the poor formatting.

Ah, so that was the snoring then, Doc Tor. Thought it was a lorry with a bad silencer.

mdijon, yeah and the ageist remark rattled a few bones as well. But I'd of thought at least a few remarks here would be about the daft buggers in the link.

Sure you'll never learn younger.

I think the paucity of direct comment on the leaflet may be because the link goes to Twitter commentary about it, so it all becomes a bit meta.

You're one of the adults now, darling. It's time to lead. It's time to give rather than receive. It's time to be the active participant rather than the passive.

IIRC, a sanity roll is made after Cthulu appears. Of course, the stars may be aligned correctly, in which case all bets are off.

(though with Ramsey's voice, you'll probably be able to hear his response in R'lyeh.)

Sadly, you will no longer be able to listen to The Sounds of Sodomy. The band is breaking up because 'Leute, wir können einfach nicht mehr den Song ,,Fick das Faultier´´ spielen.'*

*people, we can simply no more the song 'Fuck the Sloth' play.

Cultural tragedy I think we'd all agree.

Hellhost 101? You think that I should have taken a comparative religions course to see how other faiths punish their wicked as a starting point for this place?

Listen pal, we've got quite enough difficulty around here getting the Judeo-Christian mob to all toe the line as to how the suffering is supposed to be meted out. I suppose at some point in time I might go on a fact-finding tour to other jurisdictions to find out how they do it (all expenses paid, of course) and see if there's any helpful ideas we could adapt for here, but right now it's challenge enough establishing which sins are unforgivable or deadly. Obtaining decent translations is just the first problem.

Erm...

The OP's link leads to the page where you read, "While it's unknown which Christian group produced the anti-gay propaganda..."

The picture of the leaflet, and every image I have seen of it is the same one, is a photo of a slightly shabby leaflet, but there is no link to where the leaflet came from, which group published it, etc, etc.

2 thoughts occur to me:

1) Is this actually for real?? It could be a spoof. Why is there no organisation listed on the leaflet? Do you not think that if there was a real campaign it would have a contact detail, the title of the group? If it was, say, the Irish Family Campaign (if there is one), that would be on the leaflet. It would publicise their cause.

There is nothing - that is suspicious.

2) Forgive me but a couple of phrases read slightly 'Catholic' to me. This suggests this is not a Christian far right group (if by that, one means evangelical). Protestants - especially evangelicals - do not refer to Jesus as 'Our Lord' when referring to him. In conversation or in print they would simply say Jesus or the Lord Jesus; but only Catholics refer to Christ as Our Lord (or Mary as Our Lady).

Also there is the phrase 'unholy acts'. Evangelicals talk about sin, or sinful acts, but not usually 'unholy acts'.

So as I follow the link and followed the links on Google, all I find is this one, unsourced, scruffy leaflet and all the reaction against it; but no original campaign details.

All very dodgy to me.
