Why, lookee here: a post count thread! Who knew?

Just passed 2500, in a little over 3 years. That's, what, about 16 posts a week?

I'm not addicted, am I?

For those who are wondering, this puts me in the top 200 posters of all time (#171, actually, 18 posts between member number 174, tomb), and 9.3% of the way to reaching mousethief's current post count.

When I noticed I had 50 to go, I had planned to celebrate my 6666 post! Now I shall have to wait another 59931 posts for the next such sequence.
Likely not as long as I think, in 1.5 years, I have gone from page 13 to page 6. And again, well ahead of many I thought more frequent posters.

If you ever find yourself reading the code test thread in the Styx (not proud to admit that I have done that) you usually see MT testing things there. Which is not only good practice, especially if, like MT, you change your sig quite a bit, but a good way to get your post count up, if you ever want to catch him.

It does indeed, Wodders - I've just looked back and, having joined the Ship in September 2006, I hit 7000 posts in July 2012 - just over 1000 per year - and I've added another 2000 since then.

I've found since becoming a host that I post on threads in AS that I wouldn't have thought about before, like the American and Australian ones, but when I'm reading them I sometimes find I've got something* to say.

* Not necessarily something meaningful, you understand - just something ... [Big Grin]

I can identify with that!

I am currently at about 36,500 and I doubt 500 of them have been deeply meaningful.

I've hardly been busy on the Ship and have taken several long breaks, but somehow here I am at 10,000.

I have done some calculations on those who come onto the first page when users are sorted by number of posts. This gives people's daily post score:
Welease Woderwick 12.24
Mousetheif 12.10
Sir Kevin 9.81
Ken 9.08
Chorister 7.36
Marvin the Martian 7.31
PeteC 6.33
Kelly Alves 6.28
Comet 5.39
Alan Cresswell 5.31
Sioni Sais 5.14
Zappa 4.99
RuthW 4.92
Lyda*Rose 4.91
Mamacita 4.58
Ariel 4.33
Sine Nomine 4.15
Jengie Jon 4.00
Moo 3.80
Laura 3.67

Therefore at present posting rates Welease Woderwick is likely to overtake Mousetheif about New Year 2021!
