On behalf of the All Saints' hosts and the rest of the Ship, we welcome you aboard! This is the place to make your presence known, so that we may offer our greetings and advice to all our new members.

We ask that you make yourself familiar with our version of the "10 Commandments", which are the basic guidelines that you agreed to follow when you registered. You may also want to check the FAQ's for more useful information.

Remember, each area of the Ship has its own rules and regulations, which you will find hyperlinked at the top of each board. They range from Heaven to Hell (literally!), and you'll want to familiarize yourself with them, especially here at the beginning of your "tour of duty".

Once again, welcome to the Ship. We wish you smooth sailing!

It's been a very long time since I've been here but a project my friend is working on reminded me of this place -- http://bigboringsystem.com -- and so I decided to pop in. Was surprised to realize I still recognize most of the posters and many of the moderators.

Cheers to you all and happy 2015.

Another wandering returning here.

It's been too long, and I have often thought kindly of the Ship since my inept departure.

Life has continued to be interesting. I now have two small children, and am on extended parental leave to look after them.

The depression which precipitated my sudden vanishment in the middle of Hellhosting and game-running is still prowling around, but I think I'm on the upswing for now.

Good to see plenty of familiar faces!

Another wanderer back on board. A book isn't nearly as exciting a reason for having been away as Toof's two little ones! But a book is what I've been working on (in addition to my day job) for the last year, and all the stuff that goes with that. But I've missed the Ship. I'll try to be around a little more.

Hello, I am sort of new here. I may have posted once or twice as Ms. Lutepisc but it's been so long that I didn't remember my password or what e-mail I was then using, so I created a new identity.

Welcome (back) aboard, VK! [Smile]

If you have any questions, the FAQ and 10 Commandments links at the top of the page should tell you all you need to know.

Hi VK, and welcome from me, too.

The Ship has an aversion to folks having two identities and I see that Ms. Lutepisc is still an active ID - can I suggest you contact one of the admins so that they can disable the old account?

Thanks and enjoy the cruise.

Hello Ship Of Fools! I found this site by googling "Anglican Latin Mass", and to my surprise, such a thing does indeed exist! After lurking for about a week, eventually I managed to register.

I'm not sure exactly how much of a biography I am expected or allowed to post here. Anyway, my background is mostly the Traditional Latin Mass, usually independent sedevacantist chapels. When that wasn't unavailable, too distant, or for other reasons, I would be at an Anglo Catholic Mass, mostly groups that were independent of the mainline Episopal Church.

I currently live in Los Angeles, but I have lived all over the United States, and even briefly in England.

I completely lost my faith in 2008, and have not the darkened the door of a church since.

Recently I have been watching Henry VII tv shows such as Wolf Hall and The Tudors, so it's hard not to think about religion with all Catholic vs. Evangelist drama going on constantly.

I figured this was as good a time as any to think about going back to Mass, as long as there is nothing offensive like homophobic sermons or the like, I think it would be interesting.

Hi Vidi Aquam and welcome on behalf of the All Saints Hosting Team.

If you haven't already done so you might find it useful to have a look at the Ship's version of the 10 Commandments and at the FAQs, both linked at the top of every page.

Most importantly join in and have fun.

Welcome to new Shipmates who have signed on recently .

You will find threads for various parts of the world in All Saints.

Have a look around and join in. It is a good idea to read the Ten Commandments at the top of the page and is also a good idea to read various boards to get a feel for them before posting.

Thanks Lothlorien, your post motivated me to find the oval Jammy Dodger - it turned out to be Huntley & Palmer's Milk & Honey biscuit which seems not to be made these days - as soon as I saw the Milk & Honey reference I recalled my mother adding them to the grocery order every Friday morning - they were a great favourite in our house - which she dropped into the Grocer on Friday morning on her way to work and it was all delivered on Friday afternoon.

Posted by Piglet (# 11803) on :

There's a selection of biscuits available here made by Peek Frean's that has what I'd call jammy dodgers, but I must confess I prefer ordinary custard creams as the jam makes my teeth hurt.

Hi Nanny Plum is a Legend and welcome on behalf of the All Saints Hosting Team - feel free to join in and have fun. If you haven't done so already it's worth spending a moment or two looking through the Ship's version of the Ten Commandments and also the FAQs, both linked at the top of every page.

Hello! I hope this the right place (I almost started a thread in heaven but then thought to look for other people introducing themselves).
I am new here but have read this forum for a long time. I hope to learn some new things and make some valuable contributions. [Angel]

The Seminarian

I'd like to echo LeRoc's sentiments and welcome you to the Boards.

As you've been lurking (in the nicest possible sense!) for a time, you'll be aware of how we operate. If you haven't already done so, please check on our Ten Commandments and the preamble with each Board's menu.

Have fun

Yours aye ... TonyK

Welcome to all new Shipmates. Smooth sailing to all.

Hello Everyone,

I'm afraid I'm one of those tiresome sorts who loses interest in Christianity as a teenager and then returns to it in middle age. I'm just making a start on the return, really, and would like a good chinwag about it before I actually turn up at a place of worship and grapple with a half-remembered liturgy.

I'm not entirely sure I'm right for this forum, to be honest. I've had a good look around and it's a great place for discussion, which I hope to contribute to. But it seems everyone here is already a firm believer, rather than a potential believer. I mainly want to talk about why you believe, what exactly you believe, how you came to believe, and that kind of thing, and I'm worried that's not going to be your chalice of sherry.

I hope I won't be as out-of-place as a drunk at midnight mass. If there's a particular corner of the forum for people like me, I'd be grateful if you'd point me to it.

Thanks!
Harry

Posted by Hedgehog (# 14125) on :

Welcome HarryLime! You are not out of place at all. The Ship is filled with all types and not all are firm believers. There are many who are, of course, but there are equally staunch atheists. And then there is a lot in the middle. Check out the "Mourning the loss of faith" thread further down the page here in All Saints to get some sense of the variety of Shipmates.

So you are certainly not out of place. Welcome aboard and I hope you stay for a nice long voyage!

Posted by HarryLime (# 18525) on :

Thanks for the welcome, Hedgehog. I'll check that thread out.

Harry

Posted by Spike (# 36) on :

Hi Harry, good to see you. As Hedgehog said, you are definitely not in the wrong place. Although the site is predominantly Christian, we have people of other faiths and of no faith at all. We have people confident in their faith and those who are struggling. All views are welcome (but don't be afraid to be challenged!). I look forward to seeing you arund the boards.

I suppose it is appropriate in some parts of the space/time continuum, that I am the third person to welcome you - and I do so on behalf of the All Saints Hosting Team.

You are indeed most welcome and be assured that you are most certainly not alone.

If you have not yet done so I seriously recommend a read of the both the Ship's version of the 10 Commandments and the FAQs, both linked at the top of every page.

Enjoy your cruise on our little liner, it might leak a bit but we seem to get there in the end.

Welcome back and smooth sailing.

We like to keep one membership per person. If you click on link at top of the page called Ship Stuff , you will see a contact link. From the link to Ship's Crew, select member admins. Choose an admin and send them an email. They will dig out your former details and let you know. Just another service from our friendly admins.

Enjoy the trip, there are names from the past which you may recognise.
