How is Ste Therese patron saint of France (October 1)? I asked St Denis and he was unaware he was demoted.

Later on you mention the birthday of Queen Elizabeth. Not the English one (September), nor the Queen (April 21)

A happy feast of Our Lady of Ghisallo, Patroness of Cyclists! It may be a tad gloomy out, and the best place to go riding around here might be closed today for Some Unimportant Holiday Or Other—I'm translating my real observance to Friday anyway—but it is a Holyish Day of Obligatory Riding in my breviary…

Good riding to all others today!

You do know there is something over one thousand Celtic Saints in the UK. ( I found a list that listed 920, but then discovered that quite a few Scottish ones were missing from the list such as Maelrubbha and Ninian).

I feel as if I've always known about St. Ninian, as there's at least one church dedicated to him in Orkney, and he's also had boats and a hospital ward there named after him (the geriatric unit where my mother spent the last ten years of her life was called the Ninian Ward).

December used to be the 10th month of the Roman year, getting it’s word from “decem”, meaning 10, Anglo saxons called it “Winter Monath” because of burning of the Yule Log, Also “Heligh Monath” or holy month because of Christmas.
