Thank you, but no I don't think so. I think I'm just going to have to say I can't do it. I've got another week before I have to make a decision.

I have seen a doctor in the past and I have been precribed anti-depressants which heled a lot. I don't really want to go down that route again but I might have to if I feel it's the only way.

Having said that, after a dreadful Christmas Day, I've been feeling better today. A long walk helped (and with no return of my lower back pain!!) As did a chance meeting with someone who used to go to my church but hasn't been for a long time because she didn't like a lot of the things I don't like there. I probably shouldn't be pleased about that but it made me feel less alone.

That sounds like the sort of thing that seems to get arranged for my friend when he isn't feeling good. He'll go out and find that he bumps into some who needs his help, or something that shifts his mood.
I rather like it when that sort of thing happens.

Last time I got depressed, I ended up talking to someone for three sessions, which turned out to be enough to shift things. (Father died, sister rowed, nasty neighbour was nasty.)No pills that time.

And I had to pull out of being Treasurer to our Meeting. I'd taken it on because they were really short of people, and I thought it wouldn't be too hard. Until I couldn't find a difference in the system - worked at it for ages, and then had to resign. It was accepted graciously, and the person who took over found the problem. Would your church take that attitude?

No she hasn't - and has turned the story round. Pray for me not to get into panic mode so easily, as well as for them to ... whatever God has in mind for them as a good resolution. Soon.

I found myself watching 'Prince Caspian' last night and wondered just what Aslan was up to allowing first the White Witch and then the Telmarines to treat the Narnians so badly for ages before sending in the Pevensies.

This may not be the proper place to post this and if it isn't, I offer a hundred apologies to the Ship's whipcrackers.

I have an eating disorder. Both of my deceased parents were alcoholics and my sisters and I have struggled with alcohol and other things. However, for me, it's been sugar. I crave sugar like a maniac. My craving is complicated by my Type 2 diabetes diagnosis. Intellectually I know that sugar is bad for me and is making my diabetes worse but no amount of praying for help was working...until a few days ago when I asked God to take away my craving by ANY means...

I have to laugh at this...tonight I was eating some chocolate and my mouth started to tingle, itch, and then burn. I finished my chocolate and coconut candy bar and wondered what was going on. Later, I tried to have a piece of chewy fruit candy--and the burn and itch was worse. I think I'm developing an allergy to candy!

I don't know what to think. Part of me is thinking this is genius, on God's end. But then I am horrified. Could this be prayer answered? And if it is, what does that mean?

Oh, @$@%.

My little six year old grand niece (Neph's niece) has been struggling for two weeks with a bad flu that has been making her asthma kick up. It has developed into bronchial pneumonia.

She just moved to Indiana this year, so on top of all that this is her first encounter with deep Midwestern cold. Anyway, please pray for the healing of Violett and the peace of her frantic mother, Jenny. [Votive]

I'll be needing support tomorrow again for a second visit for New Year's Eve, which somehow has been organised instead of taking my friend's mother to a local park from which the London fireworks can be seen. I did point out that the journey to return them, with the extra traffic, was a bit much at 70 and probably 3 o'clock, but that's what's going to happen. Fortunately I hadn't returned my home to its normal state, but chairs need moving about, and extra cooking done.

She has gone off me since last week, thinking I am plotting to bring social services to bear on her.
