Kingsfold, I get some of my haggis here. They're not hunted from the wild, they're hand-reared in the Highlands.
The rest of my haggis comes from another butcher who hunts them at dawn on the slopes of Bennachie.
So you can't blame me for the dearth of haggis in Inverurie!

Someone turned the cam on at Eilean Donan! And there's a golden haggis!
I saw one at Inverurie earlier - five minutes later the cam had rotated and it was gone.

Yay! I hope so! So far, I've not had much time to hunt the fearsome haggis. My bag must have one of the lowest numbers of everyone here.

I may have discovered why there are so few haggis in Inverurie - the West Church are selling haggis scones! (Very nice they are, too!)

NEQ, didn't see you but waving at the CCTV is important! Just wondering if other people often have trouble with the loch ness one. The picture is there on the thumb nail but when you click to see it in big the whole picture goes.

There's a very large one on Oxford Street. And no haggis at Loch Lomond but a man standing on the deck with his sleeves rolled up. It can't be that warm in Scotland, can it?

No it's not. But that won't stop Glasgow being full of girls with no tights and no coat out on the town tonight (Loch Lomond is not far north of Glasgow).

However on Oxford Street there's one doing her* Christmas shopping.

And now it's showing a roof and the side of a building. The hill in the background, with the sort of notch in the treeline at the summit, is Craig Phadraig; the place at which Christianity reached Inverness. King Brude had his fort there. Saint Columba went to the fort and asked to speak to the king, but was refused admission. So Columba commanded the gates to open in the name of Jesus, the gates swung open: instant conversion of King Brude!
The remains of a vitrified fort still exist.

From the Haggisclopedia: quote: A recent sighting of a Haggis piggy-backing on the Loch Ness monster has fuelled rumours that this folk tale is in fact true.
I'm expecting that to turn up on the Ness-cam. Anyone seen it yet?

I've never managed to see a haggis at Loch Ness, but a few sheep... and today when I could go on the computer, I saw one in Oxford Street. If I was walking there, what would I feel to meet a haggis, alive and "exercising"?

It looks to be just before dawn at Stonehaven Harbour and Eilean Donan. The other sites are still very dark. What time does the winter sun rise in Scotland?
There's a huge golden haggis walking the beach at Stonehaven Harbour.

One disguised by darkness at Eilean Donan.
That's better than usual, when it suddenly seems to get remarkably light when the haggis appears
And that's a confirmed full house. I think it's the first year I've managed that. [ 11. December 2012, 16:38: Message edited by: kingsfold ]

There's a golden one who frequents the rooftop of the office building in Aberdeen - I have a genuine wish to shout 'Don't jump! things aren't that bad!'
But my favourite is the one who patrols the shoreline, as if wondering if it's too cold for a paddle today ...
