As far as I know Freelance Monotheist is in Paris, but not a regular poster of late.

Life in the provinces goes on pretty much as normal for now, with some restrictions on sporting events, public meetings and demonstrations. Regional briefings on any prohibited events are due later today.

Yes. There have been too many tragedies lately but the reports of the suicide bombings that killed 45 people in Beirut last week didn't stay in the headlines for long. What is not well known and should be, is that there'd have been quite a lot more deaths if one man hadn't tackled one of the suicide bombers and lost his own life in the process.

For acts of unsung heroism everywhere, the courage shown by ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and for the survivors.

And rest in peace Adel Termos (I understand his daughter is still alive).

Ah yes, I'd heard about that - though I heard his little daughter had died. If she is still alive, that is a relief to hear.

So much atrocity going on, it is comforting to hear of acts of selflessness, courage and kindness.

Something of a selfish request here; I just emailed work to hand in my notice. I'm planning to go back to violin/viola teaching.
One of my bosses wants to meet me tomorrow before accepting my resignation.

will it all be ok?

Prayers would be appreciated for my uncle T. Doctors have found secondary cancer cells; currently running tests to find out where the primary ones are.

Without knowing that, they can't give a prognosis, but the speed with which he's going through the tests is rather worrying.

Please pray for C tonight: may the good Lord prosper his work and give him a good concert.

Please pray for K and J as they prepare to go to Israel/Palestine to begin a new ministry.

Please pray for CD, who needs to know God's mercy.

Please pray for me, and I do some work of forgiving that is kinda hard.

Amen [Votive]

For the woman struck in a hit and run in Vauxhall tonight.

For answers, and healing, for Sister Chopped, Dad Chopped, and Lamb Chopped.

For Auntie Telenun.

For the Telemum as she faces a gruelling weekend.

For me to finally make progress.

Dare I ask - for peace.

For me, please:

--For healing of a long-time friendship.

--My long-running bureaucratic mess may be shifting, but it's hard to know whether for good or ill. There's one very important thing that everyone needs to keep in mind, but no one is listening. And that means things could go very badly.

--General health and upholding.

Thanks!
