The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all of the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever and ever.
One thing have I asked for and one thing will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all of the days of my life, to see his beauty and to meditate in his temple.
Amen.

1400-1500 I will be in the office and offline, but I will be thinking about this:
For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones [is] as a storm [against] the wall.
Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; [even] the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken [it].
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this [is] our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this [is] the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation

Constantly praying for you Molly. Am going off line now but am signed in for an off line vigil later...will be praying with my partner Jack.
God bless you Molly. May your journey to the next world be pain free. May your family and your friends find strength and comfort at this time. May you look down upon us as you dance among the stars. May you find peace and comfort in your final hours. May you know that forever you will stay here in our hearts. And may your next journey be wonderful and may you sing with all your heart. Forgive my poetry - I just want to say what I feel... God bless you my guardian angel...

May the Lord God look down on all who pray. May the Lord God hear our prayers. May He look down on Molly's family and friends, and assure them of His love. May they all find comfort, May they all be loved and hugged, And may each and every one of us find peace at this sad time. Although we know we have to say goodbye, let us find our comfort in prayer and in each other. We have been blessed to know Molly in our own different ways and may we learn by her example, her love and her laughter... her amazing humour... The moments shared alone and together... the times we will never forget... God bless her tonight... and God bless her forever... and may the Lord God above look over her nearest and dearest at this time and forever. Amen.

My Shepherd will supply my need: Jehovah is His Name; in pastures fresh he makes me feed, beside the living stream. He brings my wandering spirit back when I forsake his ways, and leads me, for his mercy's sake, in paths of truth and grace.
When I walk through the shades of death his presence is my stay; one word of his supporting grace drives all my fears away. His hand, in sight of all my foes, doth still my table spread; my cup with blessings overflows, his oil anoints my head.
The sure provisions of my God attend me all my days; O may thy house be my abode, and all my work be praise. There would I find a settled rest, while others go and come; no more a stranger, nor a guest, but like a child at home.

Saving the Best for Last
Got into a cab in New York City Was an Oriental man behind the wheel Started talking about heaven Like it was real Said "They got mansions in heaven Yeah the angels are building one for me right now And I know...
They're saving the best for last Look around this town And tell me that it ain't so They're saving the best for last Don't ask me how I know 'Cause it must be Saving the best for last for me… And when I finally take this journey I'm gonna wave goodbye to Earth Gonna throw this meter in the ocean And prove what I was worth And I don't care who tries to flag me down They're gonna have to find another ride uptown And I know They're saving the best for last..."

The first thing I did this morning was lighting a candle and praying for Molly and all her loved ones. May the LORD bless Molly and keep her; may the LORD make His face shine upon her and be gracious to her. May the LORD lift up His countenance upon Molly, and give her peace. Amen

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Rev 21:1-4

Lord God above, watch over all who pray, whether they pray silently or openly. I pray that those who are closest to Molly will feel the strength of your love and the power of the prayers on this, our vigil. Grant that Molly and her family will feel no pain or anger or sadness but rejoice in her life on this earth and rejoice in her life to come. May we all learn by her example and continue to laugh when we remember her wonderful sense of humour, sing the songs that she shared with us, and continue to hold her in our hearts until we meet again. May she suffer no more, may she meet her maker with a peaceful heart and may all those she leaves in this world find comfort and strength in her memory. In the spirit of this Ship, I pray that Molly will always be an everlasting sentence. When the time comes, may each and everyone of us look up into the night sky and see her star shining brightly...watching over us all. Amen.

Praying to offer thanks for the latest update, which reports that Molly seems to be pain-free. Lord be with her, whisper reassurance to her as her mind deals with hallucinations.
I pray especially that God will provide strength to her family and friends who are there with her, watching through the slow minutes.

Praying that the ears of Molly's heart will be open to his kindness and comfort and peace; and that whatever tricks her physical condition plays on her, deep in her soul God's Spirit is soothing and calming Molly, preparing her for the beauty and joy of her new home.

An old-fashioned child's bedtime prayer. My mother made a cross-stitch sampler of this, which hung in my bedroom while I was young, and now hangs in my daughter's bedroom:
Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.

We thank you that through the earthly marvel of the internet and the stilll greater heavenly marvel of prayer we are bound together with you and Miss Molly . May she know that the love expressed in this vigil, intense though it is, is but a pale reflection of you love for her.

Two of the verses from this morning's choir anthem:
True love can brook no dull delay: Thru toils and dangers lies their way And yet their home, their friends, their all, They leave at once, at God's high call.
O while the star of heavn'ly grace Invites us, Lord, to seek Thy face, May we no more that grace repel, Or quench that light which shines so well!

watching the snow fall, molly, and praying for you.
i got this in my mail from one of my cyber-moms from the wingfold:
"I salute you! There is nothing I can give you which you have not, but there is much, that, while I cannot give, you can take.
No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in it today . Take Heaven.
No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present instant. Take Peace.
The gloom of the world is but a shadow; behind it, yet, within our reach, is joy. Take Joy.
And so, at this Christmas time, I greet you, with the prayer that for you, now and forever, the day breaks and the shadows flee away."

We have waited in silence on your loving-kindness, O God, in the midst of your temple.
Your praise, like your Name, O God, reaches to the world's end; your right hand is full of justice.
This God is our God for ever and ever; he shall be our guide for evermore.
Lord, hear the prayers of all who watch and wait in this place. We hold Miss Molly, her family and friends before you. May they find security and joy in the knowledge that You are their guide and comforter now and until the word's end.

Several weeks ago at my church we sang 'In Christ alone' which has been posted on this thread a coupe of times, and I felt very close to Molly while singing it (especially the last verse). This Sunday we sang it during Communion (the choir normally sings quiet worship songs during distribution) and it was the final item. By the end of verse 3, everyone had received so the vicar invited the whole congregation to stand and join in the final verse - it felt like a great wave of solidarity for our dear Molly.

As I played at the carol concert practice tonight I prayed for Molly.
Lord, you know how much it hurts to have someone you love taken from you. You willingly sent your Son down here, knowing that he would die. Give us the same strength as we let go of Molly. Surround us with the same love, as you did way back then when you gave the world your Son. Call Molly to be with you, to see you face to face, and make that last journey peaceful and pain-free. Give her rest and hope and light and love.
Amen.

May God shine His light over all who feel sorrow, all who pray and all who are torn up with sadness at this time. May we all find comfort, and may we all feel blessed to have known such a wonderful friend. At the going down of the sun and in the morning.. we will never forget..

Dear Lord, please strengthen all of Miss Molly's family and friends at this time, especially her mother, Songbird Donna, TimothyL, Mrs Dillon and St Seb. Grant them all peace and please provide them with people to lean on and hold them.
We ask that you will pour out love and comfort on Molly. Please look after her, and please let her know that she is loved so deeply by you and by so many others, that she is such a dear one to us, and held so tenderly in our hearts. We ask that if these are to be her last days or hours that she might have some respite from the hallucinations, and especially that those near her may be able to speak with her and her with them.
Lord, I don't know if you will answer but I know you will hear. Amen.

Lord this day, I pray that You draw even closer to Molly as You call her home into Your loving arms.
I pray You give Peace to her loved ones and strength in You.
Amen.
Abide with me, fast falls the eventide; the darkness deepens, Lord with me abide; when other helpers fail, and comforts flee, help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day; earth's joys grown dim, its glorious pass away; change and decay in all around I see: O Thou who changest not, abide with me!
I need Thy presence every passing hour; what but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power? Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, O abide with me.
I fear no foe with Thee at hand to bless; ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness. Where is death's sting? where, grae, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes, shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies; heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee: in life, in death; O Lord, abide with me!

Dear Lord, take Miss Molly gently into the next world. Be with her and her family and friends, give them strength, give them peace.

Lord, in weakness or in strength we bear your image. We pray for those we love who now live in a land of shadows, where the light of memory is dimmed, where the familiar lies unknown, where the beloved become as strangers. Hold them in your everlasting arms, and grant to those who care a strength to serve, a patience to persevere, a love to last and a peace that passes human understanding. Hold us in your everlasting arms, today and for all eternity; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
(from Common Worship, (c) Archbishops Council 2000)

Heavenly Father, you have not made us for darkness and death, but for life with you for ever. Without you we have nothing to hope for; with you we have nothing to fear. Speak to us now your words of eternal life. Lift us from anxiety and guilt to the light and peace of your presence, and set the glory of your love before us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A slightly different version of 'What is dying?' by Bishop Brent (Phillipines) which has appeared either on this thread or one of the others.
I am standing on the sea shore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and I stand and watch her until at last she fades on the horizon.
Then someone at my side says 'There she has gone.'
Gone where?
Gone from my sight - that is all. She is just as large in the mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side.... the diminished size and total loss of sight is in me and not in her, and just at the moment when someone by my side says 'She's gone,' others take up the glad shout - 'There she comes.'
With prayers for Molly, her parents, her sisters, her helpers and friends and carers. God strengthen and comfort all of you.

I'm listening to a CD of traditional Irish religious songs; the first one has a lovely lilting refrain and the words:
Glory may he be and blessed now is she, And those who sing the seven long verses in honor of our Ladye, Sing alleluia, sing alleluia! Sing alleluia, the heavens are true, sing alleluia!
The words on the page don't convey the wonderful feeling of the song, but listening to it while thinking of Miss Molly, it makes me feel that it is the sound of the angels singing Molly into Heaven. It's a lovely, happy song, and I hope that as I listen to it, somehow it will enter into Molly's hallucinations and help her see the brightness to come.
I also pray that the joy of this song will be conveyed to Molly's sister, mother, and all those who are caring for her during this time.
Lord, Thy will be done.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff -- they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
