Thank you Pete, best birthday in a long time. Although I can't really say much in public. But think family, food. Lovely.

Our dear friend WW would be most disappointed if I didn't pop in at this point with an Opinion.
IMHO, streaky bacon (which sadly is the norm around these parts) is only fit for covering roasting chickens to stop the breast-meat drying out, or as the basis for bacon, lentil and tomato soup.
While we were home, we scoffed as much Proper Bacon™ as we could get our hands on.

I'd like to ask Shipmates to join Mrs TonyK and me in celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary on Saturday 23rd September.
I'd buy all of you a drink, but technology (and my bank balance!) preclude this option - but should you be indulging in alcoholic (or other) liquor on this day, please remember us...

How wonderful! Best wishes to you both from Sydney and I will join you later on. Breakfast has just passed, so a bit early, but a G&T later this afternoon in heat will be welcome.

We mentioned Francis Jackson's centenary in church on Sunday. We were singing one of his tunes, and my husband, the organist, refused to start playing till I remembered to announce it!

My parents had little money and less inclination to send us to the”pictures” at the local picture show every Saturday afternoon. So I had had little experience of films till my year at High School went to the local theatre, old even then to see Olivier in Henry V It was a revelation to me at the time. So thanks for raising those memories, Piglet. [ 26. October 2017, 04:27: Message edited by: Lothlorien ]
