For Fiona, born on Monday to a dear choir couple, K and A; she had trouble breathing, was taken to hospital and admitted. She has bleeding in her brain. Lord, have mercy on your children.

Baby Fiona was having seizures, too, I've learned.
However, she was sufficiently stabilized lsat night that her parents could go home to sleep. Deo gratias.

Following increasing breathlessness this year, our GP has referred my OH to see a lung specialist (29th Dec) and to have heart tests (appt to be arranged). Obviously we are concerned: her mother died of heart failure aged 62, and we are also acutely aware that R herself worked with asbestos dust without protective equipment at ICI in the 1970s and 80s. She has a chest X ray tomorrow: praying that it may be clear.

Outside the front door, right now, is a cat named Rover whom we have been feeding. He is the nephew of Visiting Cat.
Rover is pounding on the door and yelling to be let in. Nobody else in the house, of four legs or two, can cope with another cat living inside, and I can't cope with having to ignore a cat who is right outside yelling ADOPT ME all day long and holding up a sign saying I DO NOT LIVE BY KIBBLE ALONE I HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF LOVE TO GIVE.
Please, for a resolution that suits everyone.

Christchurch has been shaken by a moderate quake(Mag 4), followed by a smaller one a couple of hours later. This was to be expected but it's a while since we've had one in daylight hours.
It's left me, and I suspect others here feeling a bit fragile. I would appreciate prayers.
