Please continue praying for V & his parents who, as far as I can tell, are living apart. They're spending Christmas together (with a lot of extended family), so if they can get through the day without upsetting each other or V (who is extremely sensitive & really takes things to heart), that would be great. V doesn't know what he's getting from his parents, and I said they'd probably still get him a joint present, as they still both love him, so here's hoping things aren't too confusing for him.
Apparently it was his mum's birthday on Friday, but it was his dad's week with him, and he hadn't even made a card for his mum, oops. So prayers for his mum that she hasn't felt too lonely & neglected and that V has coped being away from her. He's an only child, so I think I must have been one of the first people he told (I coaxed the info out of him), so goodness knows how long he had been trying to deal with all his emotions by himself.
I bought him a Christmas present as a pick-me-up/reward for being so brave & talking to me about his problems, so I hope it brings him some joy and comfort during what could potentially be a very awkward & difficult period.

I know that parenthood, especially in the early weeks, is a 2 steps forward, 1 step back thing. But today just feels like a 5 steps back day, and having thought I was over the weeps I am back to being a bit of a wreck today. I just want to do the right thing for our daughter, but it's so hard and my body doesn't seem to be co-operating as it should. I'm trying everything. Please pray for us [Waterworks]

Praying in particular for Dani and PeteC [Votive]

Friend who was in South Sudan now safely back in the UK, for which we're all very thankful. Keep praying for the country though, I don't know if he'll be able to go back and he was doing an important job!

Hello,

I know I'm not on the ship so much recently, but do lurk. I'd love prayer for our little family. As ever it seems to get trickier at Christmas with our interesting various relationships and I do struggle with it all.

Mother always seems to come through but one year she won't.

my friend, Rick, was killed in a car accident this morning. about half a mile from where I used to live. all four dogs with him were killed, also. one of them may be a dog that my boys and I used to care for. Rick is also the father my my daughter's high school sweetheart, and she was close with him. this is bad in so many ways. I'm about to make a call to Antarctica to one of my dearest friends to tell her that her good friend and her dog were killed. and I'm sick to my stomach.

Talked to Antarctica. broke it to the kids. our former foster dog was not in the car, thank God. Rick's son is flying up tonight. broken hearts all over.

PS - Rick was a dog musher. there are 10 more dogs to account for, and his older son is snowshoeing out to the cabin in a storm to find them. so a prayer for Janus' safety during his heartbreak would be good, too.

Would like prayers, please for what to do in a situation where I honestly don't know whether something's wrong or just that it's not how I would do it.

If it's wrong, I might need to confront a neighbour and I don't want to fall our with them.

Thanks, Gussie! Am travelling two days later than I thought and still under the threat of freezing rain and snow - a four hour drive ahead later this morning. Losing a job I love as they haven't the money, packing up a whole house to move temporarily, looking for something else and wondering what's next makes for an unusual Christmas, to say the least.

Prayers for all who are not where they thought they would be, including all of those working to restore power after all the ice.

I am in tears beyond the power of smilies to convey. My dear, dear Dani is breathing on her own with a ventilator backup, but the brain damage is severe. We are waiting on the results of an MRI but the vegetative state continues.

Is it wrong of me to want to rant when 4 hours from now I celebrate the birth of our Lord?

My Beloved God-daughter had to have emergency dental treatment this afternoon. If today's treatment doesn't do the trick, then she'll need to get more treatment tomorrow. A dentist's chair is no place for an 11 year old on Christmas day. I'd appreciate prayers that she has a wonderful, pain- and dentist- free day tomorrow.
