The father of the groom (married two weeks ago) is now comatose and in palliative care. The family have gathered around the bedside. The groom's sister has had her 20 week scan and discovered she is carrying a son. Her father was told the day before he became unconscious. Prayers for Paul, aka 'Toby' that he will go with God. For his mother and brother too, who are both critically ill, and unable to get to his bedside, and especially for his wife who is trying to hold everyone else together.

Lord have mercy.

Still receiving encouraging notes on the state of my cousin Bill. It was a fraught three weeks since the first note, In the meantime, my cousin Marian has had a stroke, and although she is doing nicely she has a way to go. A painter and sculpter in her time and still active.
Today, my late cousin's husband, Jens, has died, almost a year to the day Margaret died. It was a second marriage for both of them. 1986-2014 is a good haul. He was a gentleman and until very recently an active skier. He was 89.

It has not been a good summer for my family.

*Toby's life has come to a close, 4 weeks and 2 days after the terminal diagnosis and 3 days after entering the palliative care unit. Family was with him around the clock and arrangements are now being made. His mother managed to see him once. Thank you for your prayers.

*nicknamed that because his grizzled head looked exactly like a Toby jug.

RIP.

My brother-in-law Charlie could use some prayers -- he is combating both alcohol and depression, and his girlfriend died last night.
I had left messages all over creation for my other brother-in-law, the Lutheran pastor. But cleverly I remembered that I had done a MW report on his church some time ago, and was able to go back to that report, find the web site of the church, and reach him immediately by phone, and he will contact Charlie. So yay, Mystery Worshipper!

Please pray for my mother the Dowager, who had 'something' removed from her leg (the surgeon said that it didn't look cancerous to him, and I guess he's seen a few). Unfortunately the skin is paper-thin and she needed a fair number of stitches, so please pray that it heals fast and cleanly without infection [Votive]

but praise and thanksgiving that I was able to take her for that appointment [Smile]

It means she can't drive for 10 days, which worries her, so please also pray for patience for her at this time [Votive] [Votive] [Votive]

Just had to call the cops for the first time ever. What sounded like major domestic violence argument happening out in the street.
Unfortunately, I didn't see them, and I can only vaguely guess which house, so there's not much that can be done.

Please pray for the woman - that she'll be safe - and that the one house the cops are going to check is the right one.
