I haven't been posting for several months and the reason may sound a little weird. Back in late spring I started getting burned out on social media. I'd returned to my long-unused several-years-old Facebook account, but soon (not soon enough?) i realized what a time-waster it was for me. About that time I misplaced my SoF password and around that time non-cyber household/family business was at the fore. Thus, at that point having become quite burnt out on computer communication i let the missing password slide even tho it would be easy to retrieve.
But it had nothing to do with the Prayers of the People thread which, in retrospect I regret not keeping in touch. This medium may be virtual but you/we folks are real.
first and foremost, prayers for Ken on his passage. I was stunned to hear of Ken's death. I never personally communicated with him but I always looked forward to his posts over the years. A great mind and spirit.
Prayers for Nanny Ogg, for Lamb Chopped's Mouse and Chastmastr's Marmalade. Prayers for Telepath and Telemum, the5thMary, Emendator Liturgia, partber, and eternal rest for EM's mother
Amazingly i still have remained feeling perfectly healthy despite the presence in my body of both the prostate cancer and the metastasis of melanoma. God is so good!!! I have had a wonderful spring, summer and fall.
They still are just monitoring the melanoma spots in my lung which remain almost inert.
Re the prostate cancer, the PSA's have steadily of slowly risen and pretty soon they will go from the monitoring to treatment stage on that one. This was not unexpected. The medical professionals are talking about radiation combined with hormone deprivation therapy. Apparently it wouldn't be anything nausea-inducing or cause hair loss. However it would affect my physical maleness, something i'd prefer not to have happen, but to an extent hopefully foe a shorter rather than a longer time. I am being scanned today (Nov 7) and tuesday (Nov 11) to see if the prostate cancer has metastisized. Treatment options to be discussed thursday the 13th.
Still praying for my cousin C, who is still trying very energetically, (if in a less-than-realistic way?) to find his way in life at age 40. On the other hand he has been extremely helpful to me in keeping my physical household in order.
My friend J has suffered from dizziness for over a year and the docs dont know why. The lack of decent affordable health care makes the situation worse. (God please change minds and hearts of those in this country who are in a position to change this situation.)
For my 2 cats Pulsar and Little E (a new addition) I give thanks that the older (P) is starting to tolerate the younger which was a concern. Prayers for continued good health and happiness for both.
Prayers for all praying here and for all for whom they are praying.

Another matter seemingly small but of great concern to me. I cant find a book that i borrowed from a local research library (Emory Pitts theological library) that has been a wonderful and helpful resource to me.
I and my cousin have searched high and low (esp my cousin). I so hate having to tell them that i lost it esp since they've been so helpful to me. Praying abd searching!

For all who need prayer, those requested those silent.
Please pray for my niece, whose mental wellness has been shaky since she found her eldest daughter in what turned out to be a suicide. She is in hospital.
Please also pray for D, my eldest nephew, who has a shaky grip on his impulse control. He has been incommunicado since Tues, (his elder daughter heard from him on Wednesday) He was going to see a lawyer in a city where his younger daughter lives and where he is under legal restriction to not approach her or his ex-partner. He left a lot of his winter gear here before he left.
I pray he is not in trouble there, and more importantly, has not fallen back into a drug culture.

I'm feeling quite a bit better than I have been recently - thank you everyone who prayed for me. Physically I feel almost normal again. Emotionally still a bit wobbly but hopefully getting there. Prayer for things to go on improving would be much appreciated. Thank you!

For Uncle Pete's niece and nephew.
For the current interesting dynamics in my church... possibly duct tape for me if the temptation to say exactly what I think becomes too strong.

Can I ask for your prayers for my friend A and her family. A's dad had a heart attack on Monday, but was expected to make a full recovery. A flew to the Uk on Wednesday, but wasn't able to speak to her father. He was reportedly laughing and joking with his wife though, so there was no concern. On Thursday, early morning, he had another attack and died. It was unexpected and of course, A feels so bad that she didn't speak to him before he died. Your prayers would be appreciated.

For all those who have posted on this thread, and for those who have read and prayed Father hear our prayers.
This seems embaressingly (sp?) small compared to what some have posted but it's what's been troubling me. My brother (J) fell off his mountain bike a month ago and ripped his knee open then last week his wife (T) was sent home from work with shingles. Both J and T are in considerable pain and I'm 90 miles away just wanting them to feel loved. Please pray for them. ![[Votive]](graemlins/votive.gif)

For Auntie Danger.
Finally committing the PhD proposal to paper, and it is going very slowly, but I imagine it should. I received information this week that my boss is highly sympathetic in principle to staying employed while doing a PhD, so hopefully is less likely to try to convince me to bust myself down to full-time student.
As always, I need more discipline and better standards.

for all in need, especially Uncle Pete's niece and nephew, Japes's church and D., Spork's J and T (very "ouch" in both cases), Telepath and the Telemum, for continued recovery for Abigail (glad to hear you're feeling better), and for Dormouse's A. and the soul of her father.
Rest eternal grant unto him, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him.

Starting a phased return back to work tomorrow after 3 months off with depression / stress (partly work-induced). Still actively job-seeking. No idea how everything will work out or where I'll be in 3-6 months time. (Going to try to make a proper go of returning to current role and have union support, but have little faith my employer will do anything helpful, even if requests are made on the basis of Equality Act entitlement.) Prayers appreciated.

Praying for all.
We had a first horrible, then wonderful weekend. The car stopped working (yikes) while we were an hour and a half from home getting ready to see Gill H and Hugal, and it was startlingly more than we could afford. We've received some help--please pray that more somehow comes to help us make it through.
The car did get fixed, and it was WONDERFUL seeing both Gill and Hugal <3 <3 <3.
Cubby is still trying to get his meds sorted out regarding his new doctor and pharmacy, because he changed his health plan to be able to see the kidney doctor who was really helpful, but ... at the moment, he's been without insulin the last couple of days because the pharmacy hasn't heard back from the doctor and it's the weekend--and the previous pharmacy was always fine about giving him enough to get through.
So it's been a bit of an adventurous weekend... please pray for the rough bits to be sorted out!

Spare a little one for me? Life is mostly great right now, I'm really quite blessed. But in the midst of lots going my way my health has decided to act up and it's slowing me down. Nothing critical, just challenging.
Also please pray for my kids. One is in a rocky place with her marriage and two jobs; one is just coming to see the degree of depression he is coping with; and the third is combining the depression with puberty so is living a cocktail of weird.
Finally- i have a big decision coming up. I could use some wisdom and courage.
Prayers for all.
