Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers.
I have been signed as fit for work from Wednesday, with a phased return - i.e. reduced hours and duties. I don't want to go back.

Thank you for your prayers for J. - she's doing reasonably well and has been offered a job which'll be held until she's recovered, so she has a good reason to get well.

Sorry to hear that, RA. I wish I could say something positive, but all I can think of is "keep trying" - there'll be something out there for you.

Grrrr! ) But now huzzah! But...her GP's office screwed up and sent the wrong person's pre-surgery test results to the surgeon, ir wasn't caught, and she lost her window for a surgery date in October or November. Double grrr!! Now we are praying for a surgery cancellation to open up in November. Please, please, pretty please, God?
Update: M got a surgery date...in December. Christmas Eve, in fact. Thank you, Lord. She still is on the waiting list to get an earlier slot, which I very much hope she'll get. I pray that having something definite on the calendar will raise her spirits and help get through the weeks until the surgery. She is in constant pain.
Praying for all those in distress.

I've frequently asked for prayers here for my brother T's job search. I am happy to say he finally has a job, though it's only part time. Please pray that it works out well.
He also has an interview on Friday, please pray something good comes from that.
Prayers for all here.

Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers.
And praise You for Brother T's job.
I'm back at work but haven't had a return to work interview yet. I hope it happens today, as I need to negotiate my reduced duties before everyone starts assuming that I'm fully fit and doing the whole job.

My daughter C is as we speak waiting with her sister-in-law M to see the consultant to decide whether to terminate M's pregnancy. She has very little amniotic fluid, the foetus is small but has no room to move, and may have chromosome problems. M herself isn't in the best of health and needs surgery at some point to fix her collarbone. They have suggested testing the placenta for chromosome problems instead of the amniotic fluid, but this has a very high risk of miscarriage. I'm waiting for C to text again once they've seen the consultant. Please pray for M

please pray for the souls of Flossie and John. they were murdered by their mentally ill son on Tuesday. Flossie was my friend in High School, and my mother's student.
and if you see fit, please pray that the state of Alaska gets our collective heads out of our asses about treating the mentally ill. They had been calling for help with this kid for a year, and the authorities said they could do nothing "until something criminal happens". Well, something awful has happened.

Prayers please for those of us camped out at the Elder Tors' house. Father Tor is entering what we expect to be the final stage of his life: he's mostly given up on eating, drinks very little, and tomorrow he gets fitted with a morphine pump which will more-or-less tie him to the bed (which is, symbolically and ironically, in my old bedroom). We're also getting a nurse to sit with him during the night so that my mum, fiercely independent and determined to care for him, can actually get some sleep.
A hospice may be his final destination, but it's difficult to let go.
